Teaching Youth to Develop Meaningful Connection Through Mindfulness and Communication

Activities Include:

  • Building relationship on the ground with horses and other animals at the farm

  • Yoga and mindful movement lessons on the mat

  • Groundwork with horses

  • Riding appropriate to skill and confidence level

Children will learn:

  • To "speak" the horse's natural language

  • To move with intention and body awareness

  • Self-regulation techniques to stay calm and grounded

  • The power of creating cooperative relationships

Stacey’s passion and dedication to building relationships between the horse is rider is inspiring. My daughter leaves lessons calm and empowered. Our family will always recommend Heart-Centered Horsemanship.

When children learn to communicate in the way the horse naturally understands, and to create a relationship in which the horse says "yes" to requests, they will know that there is never a need for force or dominance in the horse/human partnership. These are lessons that can empower children far beyond the arena.

Every time my daughter comes home from Heart Centered Horsemanship, she has a smile plastered on her face all day. Ms. Stacey is so wonderful and personable, the facility is so beautiful, and it's obvious that the animals are well cared for. I know my daughter is in great hands when I drop her at the farm, which always makes me happy.

We found Stacey and Heart-Centered Horsemanship a year ago after moving to the area from the coast. My daughter had been a part of a similar therapeutic liberty based barn for the past several years and transitioning to Stacey was seamless. She is so educated in her field and has so much to teach all equestrians whether it be a young child just learning about horsemanship or the adult wanting to broaden their approach to handling horses. She is truly passionate about what she does and is sure to teach you something most trainers in this field have no knowledge of.
