An experiential workshop designed to support presence, regulation, and authentic connection, offering a calm and supportive space for learning with horses.

It was such a joy to be in the horses' presence as well as the like-minded humans that shared the experience. Mindfulness and horses = healing and just makes sense. Stacey is a wonderful teacher of these principles.

The opportunity to practice mindful movement, learn more about mindfulness with horses and actually learn some horsemanship was an opportunity I didn't know I needed. It was a beautiful experience to which I'll be returning.

Horses naturally invite us into the present moment. As highly perceptive animals, they respond to subtle changes in breathing, tension, movement, and energy, offering immediate, nonverbal feedback about what we are bringing to the interaction. Horses can help us become more aware of our thoughts, patterns, and nervous system state in real time.

Engaging with horses encourages mindfulness through observation, breath, body awareness, and intentional movement. Their sensitivity invites us to slow down, regulate, and pay attention to subtle shifts within ourselves and the environment around us. In the process, horses can become powerful teachers of presence, emotional awareness, and authentic connection.

Through mindful interaction with horses, people often develop a greater sense of grounding, clarity, confidence, and calm while learning to communicate with more awareness, softness, and attunement.

Stacey Carter has a passion for helping people discover a deeper, more authentic connection with horses. As a PATH Certified Equine Specialist, yoga teacher, and Certified Debono Moves Practitioner, Stacey weaves mindfulness, movement, and compassionate horsemanship to create experiences that nurture both humans and horses. She believes horses are powerful guides who can lead us toward greater presence, peace, and joy.

The time spent at La Belle Equestrian brings a smile to my face! I loved the thoughtful depth that Stacey used to teach our mixed group of participants and how she met each individual where they were at. I remember the beautiful day spent outside moving and working my body in new ways with new consciousness. I remember the chickens peering curiously at us! I remember how refreshed and calm I felt after.

At the center of all of this - the reason it came alive the way it did - is Stacey. Thoughtful, kind, reassuring, she has helped me rethink the mechanics of my and my horse’s body. It has been one of the most refreshing classes I have ever taken and I hope more people get the chance!

One of the things I love most about being around animals is how deeply they speak “energy.” They don’t need words to know if someone is calm, anxious, joyful, or stressed. They can feel it. And often, they mirror it right back to us. It’s such a powerful reminder to me that energy matters. Our job isn’t just to take care of them—it’s also to be the calm, grounded, steady presence they can lean into. And that means doing our own work to regulate our nervous system, tend to our emotions, and come back to center. Because when we do, not only do we show up better for them… we also show up better for ourselves and everyone around us. I had such a fun, much needed day at LaBella Farm , it was a beautiful experience!
