Teaching Youth to Develop Meaningful Connection Through Mindfulness and Communication

OUR CAMPS FOSTER:

  • Confidence with horses through gentle, respectful interactions that build trust

  • Mindful horsemanship skills that teach children how to communicate with horses using body language, movement, and awareness

  • Improved body awareness and coordination through age-appropriate mindful movement activities on the mat

  • Calm focus and self-regulation skills they can use both with horses and in everyday life

  • Riding lessons grounded in balance and connection, supporting safety, softness, and enjoyment

  • Positive experiences with farm animals, encouraging curiosity, empathy, and respect for all living beings

  • Emotional awareness and resilience, learning how to notice feelings and respond thoughtfully

  • Social skills and teamwork through shared experiences, cooperation, and group activities

  • Time outdoors in a nurturing environment, supporting mental well-being and sensory integration

  • Joy, play, and meaningful connection, creating memories that foster a lifelong love of animals and nature

When children learn to communicate in the way the horse naturally understands, and to create a relationship in which the horse says "yes" to requests, they will know that there is never a need for force or dominance in the horse/human partnership. These are lessons that can empower children far beyond the arena.

Stacey is a phenomenal instructor for our 11- and 9-year old kids. She teaches them responsibility with the horses, gives them autonomy, and enables them to learn and grow. That approach brings out the best in them, and they absolutely love the experience. As parents, we appreciate them having that experience and also everything Stacey does to make it accessible, from flexible scheduling to friendly pricing. Thank you for giving our kids this opportunity!

Stacey Carter is amazing! I took my grandchildren to one of her camps and they were absolutely smitten. I was so impressed with the knowledge they gleaned in just one day - they could not quit sharing their excitement! Stacey brings her own magic to everything she does. The horses she works with are full of good ju-ju as well. My grands want to sign up for everything she offers, and I will do my best to get them there.
